The initial inspection (Site Survey) is conducted to determine the scope of the area to be protected, the type of birds to be removed, as well as any safety concerns that may be present
Once we have determined where & how many lasers would be needed to protect an area from bird problems, we'll purchase them from the distributor and have them delivered onsite ready for installation
During installation we program the lasers to run patterns in specific time slots and set the parameters to ensure safe operation. We connect to the lasers via blue tooth to program them onsite.
All of quotes include quarterly service and ongoing maintenance. This is necessary due to environmental changes such as daylight savings time & changes in water table levels. This level of service is what sets us apart from the average installer. As certified installers we aim to be the best in the business.
Often during the initial phone call we go over what the actual problem is and what areas are of most concern and this is done while looking at an aerial view using google maps.
The lasers cannot be pointed at the sky and cannot cross highways. Workman must be aware when entering and working in protected areas. The lasers do not generate heat, or harm the animal. In fact, they can be pointed at flammable liquids & materials. There are areas where the laser cannot be installed, for instance, in any area that a spark could ignite something but again the laser can definitely be directed at it. They should not be installed in these areas because at the end of the day it is a device that needs electricity and is a connected device to power.
While this system works on all kinds of birds there are some cases where it simply will not work. Usually nesting birds by law should be left alone, but that's OK - they don't respond to it. If a goose for instance, is sitting on eggs, she isn't getting up for much until she's good and ready to. Birds congregating in a flock on the other hand are an easy target and the lasers work extremely well. Watch some of our videos, you'll see how they react. After repeatedly being harassed they will tire and leave that area alone, it's just too exhausting for them!
You'll know exactly where we intend to install, how much it will cost and the timeline of the installation because it is all in the quote. These units require power, you may have to provide it. If the site is in an area where there is no power source we can use solar panels & batteries that have been designed to work with this system in a simple easy to install manner. Many industrial sites need to work with their onsite electricians, or engineers to provide for power but again, our quote will clearly define who is responsible for each area of concern during the installation
There are many ways to install these, it can be on a supplied tower with a built in solar panel connection, or a simple 4x4 post mount can be used with a 110 outlet adjacent. We'll work with you to help you figure out what is best and necessary to get the units where they need to be to provide adequate coverage. Beyond installation, we also provide safety training for workers and can provide a safety program for your facility as well. Due to environmental changes such as daylight savings time the units can be adjusted to save on bulb life by stopping them after sunset and turning them back on at sunrise when birds are often most explorative. As part of the quote we provide for quarterly maintenance and service.
